Happiness depends on your mindset and attitude. - Roy T. Bennet

A mindset is the collection of thoughts and belief that shape our thoughts. One's mindset is a big deal in every human being. It comprises fear, depression and anxiety.

Carol Dwect (2006) popularized the concept of mindset as the construction of different beliefs about where our abilities come from.

WHAT IS TOXIC MINDSET?

A Toxic Mindset causes the main issues in every human life. We think harmful, negative thoughts and fixate on them without regard to what it is doing in our lives. As it is said, "What you believe effects what you achieve."

Mindset can annihilate many relationships and marriages because one partner doubting the other creates a life of expecting failure.

A Toxic Mindset floods the system with stress hormones and makes one feel anxious. It even causes some people to commit suicide.

HOW TO KNOW YOU HAVE TOXIC MINDSET

Using myself and how I noticed my toxic mindsets as an example:

1. Not loving myself. I always thought that the people beside me hated me, clothes did not fit me, etc.

2. I had fixed, obsessive thoughts on one thing.

3. I only saw the downside in everything and found the worst parts of every solution.

4. I doubted myself.

5. I didn't relax or take a break when I was working on something.

Note:If something did not work perfectly, it was not worth doing.

CAUSES OF TOXIC MINDSET

1. Anxiety

2. Depression

3. Addiction

4. Abuse

5. Doubt

6. Stress

SOLUTION TO YOUR TOXIC MINDSET

1. Form healthy habits - listen to a loud music, go to the gym.

2. Surround yourself with positive vibes.

3. Tackle every fear in your mind and disprove every doubt that you can.

4. Write whatever is on your mind down truthfully.

  2. Toxic mindset is injurious to the life of the victim. Hence, the need to overcome it is of great importance. Self-esteem, self-concept, and positive sense of self could be affected by toxic mindset. It may lead to seeing people around as foes or enemies.

To overcome toxic mindset, most importantly, is to depend solely on God for happiness.

    Cheers!
